Bord Bia’s Flex Your Mussels Campaign Launched to Keep the Mussel Tradition Alive
A survey conducted by Bord Bia demonstrated a strong appreciation for Irish mussels. The results of the study, released today, showed that a huge majority (94%) of people in Ireland like to eat mussels.
The national mussel sector produces over 15,000 tons of mussels a year. People are aware of their exceptional quality, and most respondents eat mussels when dining out at a restaurant (92%) or on holiday (90%), while fewer had tried to cook mussels at home (77%).
To show how quick and easy it is to prepare cook Irish mussels at home, Bord Bia just launched its campaign called ‘Flex Your Mussels’.
Some of the recipes that Bord Bia gathered to share with Irish families include the classic Moules Marinieres, on the table in less than 10 minutes, as well as Garlic Flavoured Mussels with Pasta, and Salmon with Mussels and Spinach and Chilli.
