Learn All About Olive Oil and Taste the World’s Best this September at The Fumbally

A great olive oil can make a dish, the gold of the Mediterranean is one of the most complex and interesting ingredients, unbeatable in versatility and with a fascinating history and culture around it. If you fancy becoming an olive oil expert, there is a masterclass worth signing up for coming up to The Fumbally in Dublin 8 this September 29th and 30th.
Olive oil sommelier Karen Cryan, associate member of the Savantes Register for recognised skill in tasting oil, has invited author, olive oil producer and professor Simon Field, to share his knowledge in this intensive workshop.
Simon Field, who represents the international extra virgin olive oil organisation, Savantes, will go through all the aspects that make olive oil special, from tasting it, to differentiating intensities and varietals.
The course is aimed at both food professionals and food lovers – no experience is needed. Participants will learn the skill of tasting and assessing extra virgin olive oil for quality, flavour and intensity – much like they would at a wine appreciation class, and they’ll be introduced to some of the best European oils, sent to Ireland specifically for this class.
