It’s easy to get caught up in all the fancy scientific lingo, but we often forget that the next best medicine cabinet is actually our kitchen cupboards. There are some seriously surprising foods that contain healing and revitalizing properties to improve your skin and hair just as well (if not better) than any big-name products from high end cosmetic stores.

Your kitchen is for much more than just cooking your favourite meals or sharing time with your family. Surprisingly forgotten ingredients in your cupboards and fridges are amazing treasures of natural beauty and natural health prevention, some of these everyday foods could instantly transform you and your loved ones, making you feel younger and enjoy boundless energy and great health.

We hope to inspire you with some of these natural secrets that have being passed on from generation to generation in our families and that today still being part of our daily lives, all backed up by science research and no myths. We have plenty of knowledge and experience in this area, so here it is just a small portion of all the surprising benefits of including some of these foods in your daily eating habits. Oregano (Protect Against Heart Disease) : This ancient and delicious herb is very rich in antioxidants as well as containing fibre, Iron, Manganese, Vitamin E, and the impressive list goes on. What this means is that we have a powerhouse of a food which has anti-bacterial properties, anti-inflammatory properties, protects against cancer and many other health benefits. The oils and minerals still present even in dried Oregano can melt calcification inside the arteries. This is amazing – the ability to reverse damage at a cellular level. These properties also make it fantastic in combating oxidative stress, inflammation and poor cell re-generation. Simple – reduce wrinkles, better skin, better health, protect against disease.

Turmeric (Reduce Cancer Risk) : Turmeric contains high levels of curcuminoids – powerful anti-inflammatory compounds. It is now believed that chronic, low-level inflammation plays a major role in almost every chronic, Western disease. This includes heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s and various degenerative conditions. As well as being highly beneficial to cardiac patients, studies have shown that it can reduce growth of new blood vessels in tumors, reduce the spread of cancer, as well as contributing to the death of cancerous cells. Maybe that is why India has some of the lowest levels of cancers in the world and along with the highest spice consumption.

Ginger (Boost Immunity) : The delicious, fresh root is bursting with flavour and goodness. Anyone suffering from any digestive problems can use this to calm the stomach, reduce digestive tract inflammation, nausea and many other conditions such as arthritis. As the weather is getting colder, we are more prone to colds and flu. Ginger will give your immune system a great boost and is ideal if you do get a cold. Just cut 1-2 slices and infuse in warm water for the benefits.

Coriander (Reduce Blood Pressure & Cholesterol) : Coriander has eleven components of essential oils, six types of acids (including ascorbic acid, better known as vitamin-C), minerals and vitamins – what this equates to is powerful health benefits. Some of these acids are very effective in reducing cholesterol level. They also reduce the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) deposition along the inner walls of the arteries and veins, which can lead to serious cardiovascular issues. More great news is the fact that in studies, coriander was found to help reduce blood pressure, thereby further reducing the risk of cardiac issues. It has been used as a natural anti-biotic and Coriander helps cure ulcers, inflammation, spasms, while acting as an expectorant and protecting the liver. It also happens to taste amazing!

Beautiful Hair
Olive Oil: Heat up gently 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil, massage on dry hair and leave for as long as you can, then rinse your hair with plenty of lukewarm water and wash as usual. Your hair will be conditioned, shiny & protected. A perfect hair mask treatment to be applied every 2 weeks for a beautiful healthy hair.

Beautiful Face
Yogurt: 1 tsp natural yogurt, 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp sugar (depending on your skin type dry: use sugar oily: use salt) In the shower steam your face with warm water and exfoliate gently with the tip of your fingers in circular motion, leave on your skin for 5-10 minutes and rinse. Amazing glowing and moisturised skin. I recommend to do this treatment 2-3 days prior to any important event. Repeat 2 times per week. Your pores will be minimised and your skin will be radiant.

Beautiful Body
Cocoa powder: 3 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 3 tbsp. coconut oil, make a paste and scrub on your skin around your body with circular motions in the shower, paying special attention to your legs, rinse well. Effective cocoa scrub to invigorate the skin, your circulation and eliminate toxins from problem areas, leaving you smelling and looking gorgeous! Repeat weekly for better benefits and results.
