Ballymaloe House – Yoga Takeover Two-day retreats in July, August, and September 2021

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self”

No need to travel to far-flung locales like India or Bali this year to enjoy a rejuvenating yoga experience.  Retreat to Ballymaloe House privately for a Yoga getaway where you can practice your Asanas locally and authentically. Ballymaloe House is officially closing on Sunday evenings and Mondays for the rest of 2021 due to COVID.  However, due to increased demand for COVID safe Yoga Retreats, the Allen family offered Dearbhla Gynn, a well-known advanced Yoga Teacher, and Niamh Fox from Award-winning Little Fox Café, Co. Clare, to take over the idyllic world-renowned country house hotel in Shanagarry, County Cork for a series of two-day retreats taking place in July, August, and September 2021.

After a stressful year, this is an opportunity to indulge in self-care. Let go of your worries while practicing yoga and meditation.  Dearbhla has 20 years of Yoga experience, and she will help deepen your yoga practice by breaking you out of your recently normal routine and helping you focus on your physical, spiritual, and emotional wellbeing.  Delicious food is always at the center of a visit to Ballymaloe House.  Niamh Fox, who has cooked in Ireland’s top restaurants such as Cork’s Café Paradiso and Galway’s Kai, as well as in London and New Zealand, will be taking over the Ballymaloe kitchen.  For the duration of these retreats she will be taking over the responsibility of nourishing you.

Accommodation and breakfast are in elegant Ballymaloe House, all other meals and classes will take place in the spacious, light-filled Ballymaloe Grainstore onsite.  Relax with Yin and restorative yoga in the evenings and move and re-energize your body with a slow Vinyasa flow in the morning.  The retreat will be limited to 15 people, allowing for personalized attention and making it suitable for all levels of practice, from beginner to advanced.

There will be plenty of time to savour the walled garden and woodland walks at Ballymaloe House.  Visit the quaint fishing village of Ballycotton, jump in the sea, or do whatever activity releases tension and connects you with the tranquil East Cork countryside. This retreat is all about you and will leave you replenished, inspired, and at peace. What better way to emerge from Lockdown to living again.   These retreats run from Sunday to Tuesday on 25-27 July; 22-24 August; and 19-21 September.

Yoga and meditation practices will also be live-streamed on zoom for those who prefer to practice in their room. Strategies will be in place to adhere to government-issued COVID guidelines and to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.  Prices start at €665 per person. For more information and booking, please contact Daphne on [021] 465 2531 or daphne@ballymaloe.com.
