Participate in the #IrishApplePieChallenge in Celebration of World Pi(e) Day!

World Pi Day is celebrated around the world on March 14th. Bord Bia and Con Traas of Irish Apple Growers Association have a delicious way to celebrate the day in Ireland this year and call for Irish consumers to take part in the Apple Pie Challenge.

Consumers are encouraged to bake an apple pie for a friend, and share their photo of the pie on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #IrishApplePieChallenge on or before World Pi Day. There are several locations around Ireland where consumers can collect Bramley apples for free. For said list, click here. Interestingly enough, Ireland grows 1/3 of the world’s supply of Bramley apples, and they are one of few types used in cooking nowadays.
