A Sunday Roast to Savour – The K Club Takeaway Review

Is there anything more wholesome that a decent Sunday roast? The desire for that weekly, homely meal we all enjoyed growing up hits hard every now and then. Considering the amount of cooking we have had to do this year every opportunity to escape the oven is welcomed with open arms.

Chef Philip Brazil, recently appointed Executive Head Chef of The K Club has created a take home menu that is a delicious mix of K Club classics, none more so than the traditional Sunday Lunch.

We chose starters of Burrata €8.95 and Prawn Tempura €12.95. Both travelled very well and although our plating skills are not that of Chef Brazil the taste was exceptional.

Beef Tomato & Burrata Salad is always a favourite of ours. Juicy beef tomato alongside the milky burrata both elevated by a punchy garlic pesto. Sourdough Croutons added a much needed balance of texture making this a really great start to our meal.

Crispy Tempura of Tiger Prawns complimented beautifully with a burst of freshness from the acommpanying Shaved Fennel Salad and the earthy heat of Harissa Mayonnaise.

Our Sunday Lunch mains included the seasonal classic Turkey and Ham. A very generous portion of both meats sandwiched together by a delightfully buttery stuffing, ample sides of roast and mashed potato, honey roast carrots and a generous glug of gorgeous gravy.

Our second main of Roast Pork Loin was a really juicy affair. Baked Apple proved the perfect plate partner along side all of the aforementioned sides and a marvellous mustard jus. Priced at €12.95 per main, the value for money is outstanding.

Fresh Winter Berry Pavlova made for the sweetest end to our glorious Sunday Lunch from The K Club. With an audibly crisp exterior shell and a pillowy light interior, this was one of the standout desserts for us from 2020. An absolute showstopper and priced at just €18.95, exceptional value.

We throughly enjoyed this alternative takeaway. If you are craving some really great, comforting food in these unusual times, The K Club will not disappoint.
